Webloyalty and Retail Insider hosted an exclusive evening of wine tasting, insight and conversation at London’s largest urban winery, Vagabond Wines in Canada Water.
This event marked the first in a new series ‘Retail Uncorked’ designed to connect like-minded leaders across the retail industry in distinctive, experience-led venues.

Guests enjoyed a guided tour and tutored wine tasting featuring English wines made on the premises, hosted by effervescent wine expert, Beth Brickenden – bringing expertise, wit and energy to the evening.


The event involved senior executives from Odeon, Next, Citipost, Gatwick Airport, KTM Online and Digireach hearing from digital retail leader, Indira Thambiah.
Bringing a commercial lens to digital transformation and performance, Indira shared her experience of launching Click and Collect with Home Retail Group, the increasing challenges of blending creativity and science in social commerce (and the opportunities to forge success using data) and the threat posed by AI on authenticity.
Today, Indira works with digitally-led brands including Vivobarefoot which, while predominantly online, continues to invest in physical retail — operating two UK stores and preparing to open in New York. Her view is clear: despite ongoing technological disruption and the rapid development of AI, physical retail remains an essential part of the customer experience.
Owning her own vineyard in Argentina, Silly Point Wines, Indira also shared her passion for winemaking.
